Each Kato davit incorporates our unique ball joint at the lower end. This ball joint screws down onto one of bases shown below and it allows the davits to rotate left and right. It also allows the davit to lean left or right or forward or aft by up to 20 degrees, thus it compensates for deck camber, etc., and gives the installation great flexibility.
Because the ball screws down over the stud on our bases, it means that removing the davit is very simple; undoing just one nut releases the davit from the base.
